Jordan is blown away by startup business success
Every talk I have been to gets me psyched up for business life which also pushes me forward. It may not seem a lot, but has been hugely beneficial for me Jordan Pickford-Gray
Jordan Pickford-Gray approached NBV (part of the Nwes Group) in November 2015 for support to establish his upcoming business in hand-blown glassware, to include dining ware and artistic sculptures.
As a recent Design Crafts graduate looking to start his own business, Jordan needed thorough support in all areas of business planning, marketing, financing and sales to take his new ideas forward. He found this tailored advice from his East Midlands advisor Gau Naik, who has provided Jordan with the skills he lacked to produce an essential business infrastructure – including a thorough financial plan.
Together with a two day business masterclass in financial planning, Jordan feels confident that he can tackle the business basics without the need to seek further specialised accountancy advice.
Jordan is actively attending a range of expert talks at the NBV BizEx events, learning new skills in marketing his products and networking with other delegates.
Thanks to new ideas and input he has gathered from the support he has received, Jordan is building a marketing and branding plan and developing a USP to make his hand-blown glassware a distinctive product in the market.
His business began trading in April 2016, and looking to the future he is applying for significant funding to rent his own premises and recruiting a social media apprentice to help manage his new marketing strategy.
Jordan is a client of NBV (part of the Nwes Group) delivering business support in the East Midlands.
Under the Start & Grow programme Jordan has received 16 hours of support and attended 2 training days. Along with a personal investment of £2,000, Jordan leveraged an additional £8,000. He has created one job.
